privacy.

Last updated 1 June 2026

The Bangalow Barn respects your privacy. This explains what personal information we collect when you enquire or book, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1Who we are

The Bangalow Barn (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a privately owned holiday home in Bangalow, NSW. For anything privacy-related, contact us at enquiries@bangalowbarn.com.

2What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name; contact details (email and phone); booking details (dates, number of guests, any requests); your correspondence with us; and payment information. We do not see or store your full card details — those are handled directly by our payment processor (see below).

3How we collect it

We collect information directly from you — when you email us or book through our website — and through our booking-management platform, Hostaway. If you book through a third-party site such as Airbnb, we receive the details that platform shares with us in order to host your stay.

4How we use it

To take and manage your booking; to communicate with you before, during and after your stay; to prepare the property and respond to your requests; to process payments and any refunds; to keep proper records; and to meet our legal and tax obligations. With your consent, we may occasionally email you about the Barn — and you can opt out at any time.

5Who we share it with

We share your information only as far as needed to run the Barn: with Hostaway (our booking-management system); with Stripe (our payment processor, who handles your card details under strict security standards); with Airbnb or other platforms where you've booked; and with trusted local providers (such as our cleaners) who need limited details to prepare for your stay. We never sell your information to anyone.

6Information processed overseas

Some of these providers, including Hostaway and Stripe, store and process data on servers outside Australia. By using our website and services you consent to this transfer, on the basis that these providers maintain strong, industry-standard data protection.

7Payment security

Card payments are processed securely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment provider. We never store your card number on our own systems.

8Cookies & the website

Our website is deliberately lightweight. It doesn't run third-party advertising or tracking, and we don't build profiles of visitors. The embedded booking tool may set cookies that are necessary to complete a booking. If we ever add website analytics, we'll update this policy first.

9Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we keep it only as long as we need it for your stay and for our legal and tax obligations.

10Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or to have it corrected, by emailing enquiries@bangalowbarn.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

11Complaints

If you're concerned about how we've handled your information, please tell us first and we'll do our best to put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

12Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always live here, with its “last updated” date at the top.

Any questions about your privacy? Email enquiries@bangalowbarn.com and we'll happily explain.
